Sawyer See's Hope: Dr. Visit and HELP!

Hello, everyone! Thank you so much for taking the time to visit Sawyer's web page! My wife and I are using this blog as a reference point for people to be able get information on our son's condition and a way for people to possibly donate towards his cause. So, thank you again for visiting!

Sawyer's story all started at 3 months when we realized that our baby boy wouldn't track anything with his eyes, so we ultimately scheduled an appointment with our local ophthalmologist. He looked into Sawyer's eyes and quickly ordered an MRI of Sawyer's brain. When the MRI results came back we heard the worst-- our sweet angel had been diagnosed with Optic Nerve Hypoplasia and Septo Optic Dysplasia. What that means is Sawyer's optic nerve's are severely under developed, leaving him blind to the point where glasses cannot correct his vision.

After countless weeks of research and multiple doctors telling us that there is no real cure for his diagnosis, we found out that there is a Stem Cell Treatment in China that offered treatments with patients that had the same diagnosis as our baby. We contacted a representative from China looking for more information on this treatment. After weeks of gathering all the information and opinions we could, we are sure this is the best opportunity for Sawyer to finally be able to see what he's never seen before. This is a very costly procedure and as parents you would do anything to help your child out so, we're trying our hardest to try and raise $30,000 to make this possible.

We created a donate button on his blog so that we could try and raise the money for him to go. We know that times are tough and people can't always give so we are simply asking that if you cannot donate PLEASE pray for Sawyer and us that we can make this possible for him.

Dr. Visit and HELP!

Okay, so I need everyones help! I put Sawyer in his first picture contest and I need the most likes to his picture to win a prize!

Here is what you'll need to do:

Go to Mommy-Wise Children's Consignment Sale's page and "like" it. Then go to this photo (#26) and "like" it as well!

On another note, we go to the Ophthalmologist on February 15th and Dr. Wilson will let us know what Sawyer's eyes are seeing now! I am so excited/nervous to hear what he has to say! I have faith in the Lord and I know that I will hear good news!

Lately, Sawyer has been talking up a STORM! I need to post a video of it! He is such an amazing talker! We had a therapy evaluation the other day (they do them every 6 months to see progress) and she said that Sawyer is at the age of a 10 month old as far as walking and crawling goes and his speech is WAY above his age range. I'm talking this little guy is saying sentences, repeating EVERYTHING he hears, etc. It's amazing!

What Sawyer can say:

"Dada, Mama, Mimi, Duck, I love Jesus!, Bible, Go Tigers!, Baba, Mmm, Uh-oh, Bye-bye," and MANY many more!

Sawyer also has starting "talking" to himself! It's the sweetest thing! He is also feeding himself, doesn't matter what it is! He also freaks when he smells food and has to have it right then! Another new thing he has started is when I set him in his seat to eat, without saying a word, he'll go "Mmmm"!

Sawyer is growing right on track and turning into a little boy! I am sorry for not updating sooner, we have just been so busy!
